Right on …
Right on chevychick7. I was diagnosed with fibro at least 10 years ago, but looking back I think I've had it much longer. I started having symptoms at an early age and I'm now 52. I've hurt, had problems sleeping, issues with depression, ibs and so on. Thank God my Dr. was very familiar with fibromyalgia Suzy in Dayton

I spent years …
I spent years looking for a reason for my problems. Unfortunately I thought my pain was related to stress so I never really addressed it. Problems like extreme fatigue, brain fog… My med office made you see the CPN who then would have to refer you to see the Dr (which never happened for me). She would continue to ASK ME what it could be. After 5 yrs she told me it was all in my head. I was devastated. I finally saw a Dr at a different clinic & was diagnosed w/ Fibromyalgia and sleep apnea.

I know my response …
I know my response to that may be viewed as a little harsh but try to make people understand that fibromyalgia is real. Not to sound "woe is me" but im feeling pretty alone in this fight cause no one seems to understand and people like Dr Hadler dont help that feeling.

Dr. Hadler's …
Dr. Hadler's statement says a lot about his insecurities. It is unfortunate that he is so externally controlled to the point of desperately needing others approval of himself and to also mirror his fragile self-image. Im sure his perspective would change if he developed fibro. Reality has a way of separating the chaff from the wheat.

I'm sorry that he …
I'm sorry that he is so rigid, vocal and outdated in his research. Fibromyalgia has come a long way in the last 5 years. It is a hard syndrome to fit into the existing box, and those who enjoy the false security they conjure up with rigidity are in a very precarious place in their lives. I have more respect for the integrity and intelligence of people who might not embrace fibromyalgia like we do, but instead temper what they say with something more like, Well, for me the jury is still out.

Dr. Hadler can kiss …
Dr. Hadler can kiss my ass. I have just been diagnosed if one more person tells me its in my head or that what I have isnt real. It's doctors like Dr Hadler that make it hard to find a diagnosis.

I have fibromyalgia …
I have fibromyalgia, it is real, and acupuncture has totally changed my life. I would highly recommend to anyone suffering with any pain and fatigue related to FM to find a qualified and skilled acupuncture practitioner. It was my first experience with acupuncture and I was amazed at the results.

Like Lynne M., I …
Like Lynne M., I also have had fibromyalgia for over 20 years. I thank her for all she has done to help bring more awareness to this disabling condition.

Fibromyalgia Awareness Day is May 12th.

you might want to …
you might want to tag these videos with the tags "pain" and "fibromyalgia" so that people can actually *find* them! Also change the title so it has the word fibromyalgia in it. I wouldn't have found this if it weren't for someone e-mailing it to me, and I think people need to see this! thanks.
