Is a C reactive protien of 4.9 high?

I am in the process of getting different test done to determine if I have Rhuematoid arthritis. I just wanted to know if my CRP (4.9) is high and if so how high is it? Also what is it measuring? I heard that it shows inflammation of a rhuematic disease is that true? I go to the dr today. Thanks

Depending on the lab it's normal to high-normal. CRP is a non-specific inflammatory marker, meaning lots of inflammatory conditions cause elevation not just RA.
