YES, sugary 'foods' are inflammation promoters.

Read Chapter 9 of the book :

"The Inflammation Cure" by Immunology professor William Joel Meggs.

Research, including statistical analysis proves that there are foods that promote inflammation and foods that reduce inflammation.

Basically anything processed promotes inflammation. Wheat especially white bread, cakes and biscuits promote inflammation. Cows milk products promote inflammation, potset natural yoghurt is OK as it is partially digested by the good bacteria it contains.
