what does a guarded prognosis related to rheumatoid arthritis mean?

Can anyone explain what does it mean to have a prognosis of "guarded" when related to rheumatoid arthritis?, my rheumatologist filled some forms for disability insurance and wrote guarded as the prognosis. I did not see it until I got home and my next appmt is in 4 weeks. Anyone knows what a more elaborated way of explaining the prognosis would be. Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge, it means the prognosis is somewhere between poor and fair - there is some uncertainty
involved.

I think it means with the right treatment you will not be disabled, hence guarded. Where mine stated 'Within five years she will have serious health problems'.
